Mac OS X Server Administrator’s Guide

[img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3190/2297688911_afec54048a.jpg?v=0[/img]

Whether you're new to networking or an experienced administrator, this book provides all the details you need to administer Mac OS X Server Version 10.2.3 or later. The first chapter surveys the features of individual services (directory, file, client management, print, Web, mail, and network services) and introduces the applications and tools for administering them. This chapter acquaints you with some of the server's most unique and powerful features, such as Open Directory (the open, extensible Mac OS X directory service architecture), Workgroup Manager (the graphical application for managing users, groups, and file sharing), and NetBoot and Network Install (just two examples of the server's comprehensive Macintosh workgroup management facilities). Each service has a chapter that includes an overview of how the service works, what it can do for you, strategies for using it, how to set it up for the first time, and how to administer it over time. Most chapters end with a section called Where to Find More Information, which points you to Web sites and other relevant reference material.

Andrew Lockhart “Network Security Hacks”

[img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2085/2311781067_5fa1e131cb.jpg?v=0[/img]

To the uninitiated, the title may seem like an oxymoron: after all, aren’t hacks what network security is supposed to prevent? But if you’re network administrator, this book’s title not only makes sense; it makes a lot of sense. You know that a busy administrator needs a hatful of devilishly effective security hacks to keep your 12-hour days from becoming all-nighters.
Network Security Hacks is not a long-winded treatise on security theory. Instead, this information packed little book provides 100 quick, practical, and clever things to do to help make your Linux, UNIX, or Windows networks more secure today.

This compendium of security hacks doesn’t just cover securing TCP/IP-based services, but also provides intelligent host-based security techniques. Loaded with concise but powerful examples of applied encryption, intrusion detection, logging, trending, and incident response, Network Security Hacks will demonstrate effective methods for defending your servers and networks from a variety of devious and subtle attacks.

Network Security Hacks show how to detect the presence (and track every keystroke) of network intruders, methods for protecting your network and data using strong encryption, and even techniques for laying traps for would-be system crackers. Important security tools are presented, as well as clever methods for using them to reveal real, timely, useful information about what is happening on your network.

O’Reilly’s Hacks Series reclaims the term “hacking” for the good guys–innovators who use their ingenuity to solve interesting problems, explore and experiment, unearth shortcuts, and create useful tools. Network Security Hacks lives up to reputation the Hacks series has earned by providing the “roll-up-your sleeves and get-it-done” hacks that most network security tomes don’t offer. Every hack can be read in just a few minutes but will save hours of searching for the right answer. Using just one of these amazing hacks will make this slim book’s price seem like a remarkable deal. The other 99 make Network Security Hacks absolutely invaluable.

A First Lab in Circuits and Electronics

[img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3153/2314881246_fa3f06c14c.jpg?v=0[/img]
* Experiments are linked to real applications. Students are likely to be interested and excited to learn more and explore. Example of experiments linked to real applications can be seen in Experiment 2, steps 6, 7, 15, and 16; Experiment 5, steps 6 to 10 and Experiment 7, steps 12 to 20.
* Self-contained background to all electronics experiments. Students will be able to follow without having taken an electronics course. Includes a self-contained introduction based on circuits only. For the instructor this provides flexibility as to when to run the lab. It can run concurrently with the first circuits analysis course.

* Review background sections are provided. This convenient text feature provides an alternative point of view; helps provide a uniform background for students of different theoretical backgrounds.
* A “touch-and-feel” approach helps to provide intuition and to make things “click”. Rather than thinking of the lab as a set of boring procedures, students get the idea that what they are learning is real.
* Encourages students to explore and to ask “what if” questions. Helps students become active learners.
* Introduces students to simple design at a very early stage. Helps students see the relevance of what they are learning, and to become active learners.
* Helps students become tinkerers and to experiment on their own. Students are encouraged to become creative, and their mind is opened to new possibilities. This also benefits their subsequent professional work and/or graduate study.

A History of the Soviet Union from the Beginning to the End

[img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3270/2316665808_fb85e62a55.jpg?v=0[/img]
From Library Journal
Kenez (history, Univ. of California, Santa Cruz) has distilled the voluminous literature on the Soviet Union’s 75-year history to a succinct and factual summary. Throughout, Kenez emphasizes economics, creating an image of a hollow superpower that could neither feed its population nor produce a reasonable supply of consumer goods owing to its concentration on the defense industry. A secondary emphasis is on the cultural life of the era, discussing the films and literature of different periods. There is little on the 1917 revolution and only a short analysis of why the Soviet Union ultimately failed to thrive. Sources in the bibliography are primarily in English. Still, this is a valuable reading assignment for undergraduate survey courses that academic libraries should consider.AMarcia L. Sprules, Council on Foreign Relations Lib., New York
Copyright 1999 Reed Business Information, Inc.

Review
“This is a compact and easily digested work that certainly provides food for thought….” Jay Freeman, Booklist

“Kenez…has distilled the voluminous literature on the Soviet Union’s 75-year history to a succinct and factual summary.” Marcia L. Sprules, Library Journal

Book Description
Peter Kenez’s History of the Soviet Union from the Beginning to the End examines not only political change, but also social and cultural developments. The book identifies the social tensions and political inconsistencies that spurred radical change in the government of Russia, beginning at the turn of the century and culminating in the revolution of 1917. Kenez envisions that revolution as a crisis of authority that posed the question, “Who shall govern Russia?” This question was resolved with the creation of the Soviet Union. Kenez traces the development of the Soviet Union from the Revolution, through the 1920s, the years of the New Economic Policies–which he sees as crucial to any interpretation of the history of the Soviet Union–and into the Stalinist order. He shows how post-Stalin Soviet leaders struggled to find ways to rule the country without using Stalin’s methods but also without openly repudiating the past, and to negotiate a peaceful but antipathetic coexistence with the capitalist West.

Card catalog description
Peter Kenez’s A History of the Soviet Union from the Beginning to the End examines not only political change but also social and cultural developments. Kenez sees the 1920s, the years of the New Economic Policies, as crucial to any interpretation of the history of the Soviet Union. He points out the seeds of totalitarianism in the mixed economic and political system of those years, then traces the disintegration of that system, brought on by the confused policies enacted by officials who were ambivalent about the NEP. He shows that the crisis ended only when the system was completely dismantled and replaced by a new experiment: the Stalinist order. The leaders of the post-Stalin era attempted to determine a new direction for the Soviet Union. The 1960s to the 1980s were marked by a turn away from the dynamic “cult of personality” that characterized the earlier decades of the Soviet Union, toward collective leadership, conservatism, and corruption. The complacency and demoralization of those decades presage the disintegration of the Soviet Union under the leadership of Mikhail Gorbachev.

Unix File Systems

[img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2165/2320278635_6bf2846fe3.jpg?v=0[/img]

One of the first things you will notice when moving from a Windows machine to a Unix machine is that the data is laid out differently. You will notice that the directory separator is leaning the opposite direction. Windows uses the back slash and Unix uses the forward slash. Also, Windows assigns each disk and partition a letter. The floppy disk is the “A:” drive, the hard disk is the “C:” drive, and other letters are assigned as you partition or add storage devices.

Định dạng PDF, 24 trang.
Giới thiệu với mọi người Site này có nhiều tài liệu về Hacking và Reverse Engineering:

Code:

Ví dụ trích đoạn Intro to Reverse Engineering - Part 2
Code:
Before we begin...

The Windows platform was chosen as the focus of this paper. Because of Window's wide-spread use and its closed-source nature, RCE is performed most often on Windows applications. This tutorial is time-consuming and intense, so let's do a quick overview of the topics that will be covered:

   1. Introduction to debuggers, specifically, OllyDbg.
   2. Finding the beginning of the actual code (i.e., the main() function as opposed to code generated automatically by the compiler).
   3. Identifying how source code is translated into assembly instructions.
   4. Locating specific functions and API calls.
   5. Identifying and un-packing basic packers.
   6. Real-time debugging and patching.
   7. Serial fishing.
   8. Self-key generation.
   9. Translating disassembled functions and algorithms into higher-level languages (aka, creating key-generation programs the right way).
  10. Identifying and exploiting stack-based buffer overflows in closed source programs.

Mình còn vài tài liệu "dính dáng" tới lão Mati Aharoni, tuy nhiên chúng đều rất ngắn (vài chục trang thôi) và có vẻ không giống lắm với link bạn đưa smilie
